The defining issue of our time

ESG (environmental, social and governance) issues have been at the heart of much of our work since LMC began, with the aim of championing the pioneers with maximum understanding and technical integrity, and no greenwash.

LMC’s most senior consultants have over 30 years’ experience in promoting new initiatives in energy efficiency and building physics, low carbon building solutions, affordable warmth, environmental sustainability and biodiversity, air quality, circular economy, health and wellbeing, social value and inclusion.

Recent examples include:

  • Comms strategy and campaign to promote improved Scope 3 reporting in construction supply chains.
  • Major media relations campaigns relating to improving Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), working with Elmhurst Energy.
  • Promotion of new innovations in airtightness, building performance measurement and mould prevention for Build Test Solutions, AeroBarrier UK and others.
  • Case studies of social value projects by LHC Procurement Group, linked to Gold-standard public sector procurement.
Elmhust BBC interview
Elmhurst Energy has provided expert comment on Energy Performance Certificates across multiple national media and broadcast channels - EPCs are misunderstood, not misleading, says Stuart Fairlie.

We are also strongly committed to playing our own part in tackling climate change and we track each part of our business against the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

LMC has signed the Clean Creatives pledge to decline any contracts with fossil fuel companies, trade associations or front groups. We have started our own net zero journey with specific targets mapped out for 2027, 2030 and 2050. LMC is also a member of the AECB, a signatory to the SME Climate Hub and is working to become certified as a B Corp.
