CIPR Fellowship recognition for LMC associate director

LMC Dan Gerrella Chartered Status October 2020

The CIPR has awarded LMC’s Dan Gerrella with Fellowship status today.

The accolade is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding work in public relations, service to the Institute and personal achievements within the profession.

Dan, who is associate director at LMC, said: “I’m so proud to be a Fellow. I’ve been a CIPR volunteer for eight years, both as part of the Construction and Property group CAPSIG and by serving on the CIPR Council.

“During this time I’ve supported members in a number of ways, such as organising events and networking opportunities, developing research into PR within construction and drafting a range of guidance. This includes a series of issues-based and crisis communications advice within the last year (on Covid-19, Brexit and terror and cyber-attacks).

“It’s really important to me to give back to the industry and help promote the values of strategic and ethical PR. Being a Fellow is going to offer me more opportunities to do that.”

Dan is one of just eight PR professionals to achieve Fellowship within the current cycle.

Jenni Field, CIPR president, said: “Achieving Fellowship is a recognition of outstanding contribution, leadership and commitment to the profession and the Institute. I want to congratulate each of the new Fellows today and thank them for their service and dedication to promoting professionalism, best practice and ethical behaviour in our industry.

“It is great to see a number of practitioners from a diverse range of disciplines and from across the whole country being recognised for this work and I look forward to seeing how this develops in their new role as ambassadors for the Institute.”

Dan is the second person within the team to reach Fellow status, with LMC founder and managing director Liz Male also holding the title.

Earlier this week, Dan was also re-elected to the CIPR’s Council and will serve for a further two years (January 2021 – December 2022). He was supported by CAPSIG, the CIPR’s special interest group for construction and property. Dan has chaired the group since 2018.
