National Grid

Helping to establish a dialogue with property professionals

PylonNational Grid has worked hard for more than 10 years to support robust scientific research into electric and manetic fields (EMFs) and to promote responsible, open and honest dialogue with all stakeholder groups about the potential long-term health risks of living near its high voltage overhead power lines.

We helped National Grid's EMF team to engage with property surveyors and valuers, explaining the science and understanding the effects of public perceptions upon the marketability of residential and commercial property.

Our issues management support focused largely on liaison with the RICS and other industry bodies.

In order to prevent unacceptable distortion of the housing market, erroneous or misleading reports by surveyors or valuers on EMF issues are closely monitored and reported to the relevant authorities.

Regular Continuing Professional Development workshops on EMF issues are also provided for surveyors, agents and other property professionals.
